Svala is an Icelandic artist, certified driver-guide, and movement practitioner dedicated to reclaiming the wild and helping women connect to their instinctual selves. Drawing from over a decade of international experience as an art model, she specializes in guiding individuals to confidently inhabit their bodies and practice body acceptance through the medium of wilderness nude art.
As a co-founder of Völur Retreat, Svala integrates Norse pagan traditions and practical witchcraft into the experience, leading rune-meditation circles and co-hosting collective fire rituals alongside sacred group gatherings where women become wild together and collaborate to create art in nature. With over eight years of experience leading tours in nature and a dedicated focus on location scouting, she operates as a certified driver-guide to manage all terrain logistics, safety, and journeys into Icelandic nature.
Channeling her artistic identity, Icelandic Selkie—a being of both land and wild—Svala provides a highly professional yet deeply welcoming space for women to connect with the landscape, honour their bodies, and explore their creative potential.
Becoming Your Own Muse
Svala’s photography practice grew from self-portraiture—her own way of witnessing herself, connecting to her feral nature, and reclaiming her body as her own muse. She invites you to do the same and step into your own raw, sensual power.
She approaches these sessions as rituals: spaces for you to be fully seen, to anchor deeply into your physical self, and to return to the wild within. Through intuitive guidance and creative direction, Svala supports you in shedding layers, inhabiting your body with true agency, and embracing radical self-acceptance. The resulting work captures your most intimate, raw, and transformative essence.
